The legendary recording studio of the German Avantgarde band “Can” has moved into our basement and is accessible to visitors as part of the exhibition.
The recording studio was opened in a former cinema in Cologne Weilerswist back in 1971. Between 1971 and 1978, “Can” recorded a total of eight studio albums here. In 1973, Swiss sound expert René Tinner took on the role of sound engineer and continued to run the studio as “CAN-Studio” until 2002. The works he produced included albums for Marius Müller-Westernhagen and Fury in the Slaughterhouse.
